Finally I have finished to see “Tokyo Tower“, not the film but the television version dated 2007, consisting of 11 episodes.

  • Episodes: 11
  • Broadcast period: 2007
  • Theme song: “Tsubomi” by Kobukuro

It is a touching jdrama, fully classifiable in the group “tear-jerker”, in fact is not possible to keep them if you are involved in the storyline.

Masaya Nakagawa is “Ma-kun”, a simple and common boy grown up in the country and for him “the city” has always been a dream. Tired of continuous excessive attentions / treatments received by his mother and eager of independence, one day he decides to take the big step and to go to study and live in Tokyo, alone, in the place where the much-admired Tokyo Tower is located (hence the jdrama title).

For him it will be the beginning of a new adventure, sometimes exciting sometimes tragic, to live every day. Joining the University of Fine Arts in Tokyo allows him to find new friends, friends that will interact with him for the rest of history. But the storyline of this jdrama focuses mainly on relationship of the other people with his mother “Okan”, an exceptional figure, which many people wish to have as maternal figure.

A jdrama poignant, heartwarming, touching, full of exciting events that increase as the story continues.

The climax reaches its top when the mother will live with his son.

I do not go over to not reveal the ending and to not ruin your expectations. I suggest sincerely at everyone to see this work, better if you do not read the full storyline or the final before.

A greeting.

PS: the theme song is very suitable with the drama. It shouldn’t missed. Listen to it. ^__^

Hello friends,

it was a pleasant surprise when some days ago started two new jdramas where acts two of the most famous stars; Sorimachi Takashi and Kanno Miho. And don’t forget Izumiya Shigeru, which is a is a constant presence in the Japanese cinematographic panorama, from Jdramas to Jmovies.

They are “Tomorrow” and “ロト6で3億2千万円当てた男 (Lotto 6 de San-oku Ni-senman En Ateta Otoko)”.

Synopsis: Takashi Sorimachi stars as Satoru Tachibana, an advertising firm employee slaving away under a younger boss for a meager salary. With a pachinko habit, no savings, and no prospects of romance since his divorce, Tachibana is left wondering what the future holds for him. One day, he desperately enters a lottery, trying to make enough money to pay for his child support, but his sense of self-disgust kicks in. However, his curiosity gets the better of him, and he later discovers that the ticket is a winner, turning him into a millionaire overnight.

Synopsis: Takenouchi plays a surgeon who retired 8 years ago to work for the municipal government. However, he ends up returning to the profession to help a local hospital on the verge of bankruptcy. Kanno plays a co-worker, taking on the role of a nurse for the first time in her acting career.

I’ve given a look at the first episodes and they seems quite interesting, at least with my so-so Japanese understanding 8).

Another good new is that, according to fansub table, there are already two translators that will make softsubs for them (Izydata and Haruspex). Thanks you very much!

Not always good actors makes a good drama but this should definitively not be the case (at least for now). ^_^
