Hello friends,

it was a pleasant surprise when some days ago started two new jdramas where acts two of the most famous stars; Sorimachi Takashi and Kanno Miho. And don’t forget Izumiya Shigeru, which is a is a constant presence in the Japanese cinematographic panorama, from Jdramas to Jmovies.

They are “Tomorrow” and “ロト6で3億2千万円当てた男 (Lotto 6 de San-oku Ni-senman En Ateta Otoko)”.

Synopsis: Takashi Sorimachi stars as Satoru Tachibana, an advertising firm employee slaving away under a younger boss for a meager salary. With a pachinko habit, no savings, and no prospects of romance since his divorce, Tachibana is left wondering what the future holds for him. One day, he desperately enters a lottery, trying to make enough money to pay for his child support, but his sense of self-disgust kicks in. However, his curiosity gets the better of him, and he later discovers that the ticket is a winner, turning him into a millionaire overnight.

Synopsis: Takenouchi plays a surgeon who retired 8 years ago to work for the municipal government. However, he ends up returning to the profession to help a local hospital on the verge of bankruptcy. Kanno plays a co-worker, taking on the role of a nurse for the first time in her acting career.

I’ve given a look at the first episodes and they seems quite interesting, at least with my so-so Japanese understanding 8).

Another good new is that, according to fansub table, there are already two translators that will make softsubs for them (Izydata and Haruspex). Thanks you very much!

Not always good actors makes a good drama but this should definitively not be the case (at least for now). ^_^

In a bunch of free time I watched “Watashitachi No Kyoukasho”, a school jdrama about bullying, argument often dealt by Japaneses.

Title: Watashitachi No Kyokasho (わたしたちの教科書)
English title: Our Textbook
Broadcast period: 2007
Episodes
: 12
Cast: Kanno Miho , Tanihara Shosuke, Maki Yoko, Fubuki Jun, Sakai Wakana, Sato Jiro

Kaji Kohei, a new teacher, begins to work at a junior high school. He notices that one of the students, Aizawa Asuka, is different from other students. She asks hard-to-answer questions and keeps on missing class.

“Can you change the world ?”

Something strange must be happened to her. But just when Aizawa starts to open up to Kaji, she falls off from the window of a classroom.

Tsumiki Tamako is a lawyer. Her daughter was the girl that have had the accident. In her work is common to hear about bullying cases, so first she doesn’t show much interest about them, but after this accident she changed her attitude and started to try to figure out the truth behind it. Tamako blames herself for ignoring Asuka and not noticing her warning signs.

Too late ? Or not ?

The drama includes a mix of darkness, mystery, legality and illegality. The theme is bullying. Bullying is a hard problem to solve because the victims doesn’t have the courage to report to other people and teachers not always help the students. The class sessions seem normal, like an everyday routine. It’s hard to suspect any problems happening within the class. This drama shows how serious bullying can be.

Kaji sensei wants to be a good teacher but, he doesn’t have enough experience to become strong and in the bottom of his hearth there is more scary than goodwill to help others. He couldn’t see problems that arise.

You should give a try to this show. Often can raise our fury. Maintain self control is hard; test yourself if you can stay calm as the vice-principal.

There is also another jdrama based on the same topic, “Life”. I will watch it so I can compare with this. I will let you know. L8r.
