Hello all, welcome back in this 2009!

Winter holidays gave me some time to watch Japanese productions so I came back with some reviews/impressions about them.

Title: Dream Again (ドリームアゲイン)
Format:
Renzoku
Genre:
Sports/human drama
Episodes:
10
Broadcast period: 2007

This is one of the most crying series ever watched until now. If you are a sentimental human being you will cry for sure while watching.
Those with weak hearts are advised 8)

Synopsis: This series stars Sorimachi as the pro baseball player Ogi Shunsuke, who is forced to retire after a shoulder injury. He continues to train in hope of returning to play again, but a sudden accident leads to his death. God decides to give him a second chance, placing his soul into a body of another man, a wealthy fund company manager.
But abituarsi to his new life will not be easy.

The baseball is at the center of the series, helped by a strong sentimental story. Among the players there are, of course, moments of joy and sorrow.
As in many Japanese productions there is always the strong desire to win, to not surrender, to conclude what you wish from the bottom of the heart.
If you love these stereotypes, this jdrama is for you.

Despite the surreal presence this jdrama is very exciting, well-studied and it is not too idealistic. It contains the right touch that adds the right spirituality to this kind of events. A plus is given by the presence of the famous actor Kiyoshi Kodama, now rare to see in television productions that are not entertainment.

Will Ogi succeed to fulfills his wish?

As other productions starring Sorimaki Takashi, I recommend it.

Hello friends,

it was a pleasant surprise when some days ago started two new jdramas where acts two of the most famous stars; Sorimachi Takashi and Kanno Miho. And don’t forget Izumiya Shigeru, which is a is a constant presence in the Japanese cinematographic panorama, from Jdramas to Jmovies.

They are “Tomorrow” and “ロト6で3億2千万円当てた男 (Lotto 6 de San-oku Ni-senman En Ateta Otoko)”.

Synopsis: Takashi Sorimachi stars as Satoru Tachibana, an advertising firm employee slaving away under a younger boss for a meager salary. With a pachinko habit, no savings, and no prospects of romance since his divorce, Tachibana is left wondering what the future holds for him. One day, he desperately enters a lottery, trying to make enough money to pay for his child support, but his sense of self-disgust kicks in. However, his curiosity gets the better of him, and he later discovers that the ticket is a winner, turning him into a millionaire overnight.

Synopsis: Takenouchi plays a surgeon who retired 8 years ago to work for the municipal government. However, he ends up returning to the profession to help a local hospital on the verge of bankruptcy. Kanno plays a co-worker, taking on the role of a nurse for the first time in her acting career.

I’ve given a look at the first episodes and they seems quite interesting, at least with my so-so Japanese understanding 8).

Another good new is that, according to fansub table, there are already two translators that will make softsubs for them (Izydata and Haruspex). Thanks you very much!

Not always good actors makes a good drama but this should definitively not be the case (at least for now). ^_^
